Harmonic Conduit by O+A will
sonically link two communities, Northeastern University and Roxbury
with a new sound installation in Boston's Ruggles Station. The asymetry
of power between the communities can be heard in the soundscapes O+A
will tap to create a real-time harmony between the two.
It opens March 8th, 2017 as part of the Isabella Stewart Gardner
Museum's exhibition, "Listen Hear: The Art of Sound", with funding by
the Goethe Institut, Boston. |

I've
been working with Michael Schneider at ESI design to make an
interactive media wall for Terrell Place in Washington, DC. The
media environment changes with time and sensor data from the
inhabitants who'se motion through these hallways shapes the ambient
soundscape, derived from musical references in Mary Church Terrell's
wonderful autobiography, "A Colored Woman in a White World". Architect

The TANK Center for Sonic Arts
now has its certificate of occupancy. We had an amazing open
house in Rangely in September, and we will have our Grand Opening in
the spring of 2016. We've got a road, power, parking, a control
room, a deck, ventilation, a new door large enough for a Hammond

to HARMONIC BRIDGE at MASSMoCA and made this audio video documentation.
The installation has now been transforming road noise into harmony for
17 years. Here we take you on a tour from the cars to the
resonating tubes, and down to the cube loudspeakers. Noise into

"SAGA"
is an Oratorio for chorus, soloists, hardanger fiddle and organ
that traces the history my DNA from the earliest written words of the
Norse poetic Edda and the People born of Ice and Fire, to the flat
plains of South Dakota. The project was instigated and commissioned by
my father, Paul. The Libretto is by Mary-Ann Greanier. The
amazing Hai
Ting Chin will be the mezzo soloist. |

The PNC Beacon, opened October 1st, 2015, in downtown Pittsburgh in the Lobby of the new PNC Tower. The smart skyscraper sensors and data system provide the mix information for data driven light displays and soundscapes responding to weather, energy usage, and all the elements that make this brilliant building so Green. ESI Design invited Bruce to create the sound world and workings for this futuristic and entirely useful sculpture. | ||||

"HEARING VIEW, Rheinau" O+A is now open at the oldest Psychiatric Clinic in Switzerland. The installation creates a field of harmonic sound that responds to the sounds of the surrounding environment, and when activated by the presence of a listener releases sounds from the Rheinau Library, a collection of peaceful regional nature sounds from all four seasons recorded by O+A. choral work for children's voices based on texts by Lao Tsu. It was
performed again in Denver by the marvelous Colorado Children's Chorale

"Troilus and Cressida" Wooster Group played the Trojans and Royal Shakespeare Company playde the Greeks in Shakespeare's love-crossed Trojan War mashup. Bruce played a live sound-score and the role of Priam, King of Troy. It was part of the World Shakespeare Festival and Olympic Arts, London 2012.
